Where does Brockmans Guide Service fish?
Southern Oregon-South Umpqua, North Umpqua, & Main Umpqua Rivers. Coquille River systems as well as Coos Bay and Winchester Bay.
What are the target fish?
Target fish include Steelhead (Summer & Winter) Smallmouth Bass, Rainbow Trout, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Shad, Sturgeon,
Where and when in Southern Oregon do we meet our guests?
Meeting Locations vary per trip usually a boat ramp or motel, we will be in contact the day before or earlier (or feel free to call/text 541-951-3980) to confirm location and time as the trip date gets closer. Typically we meet before daylight but if you would like a different time please contact us before the trip to pick a time that works best for you.
Do I need an Oregon STATE Fishing license or tags?
Yes, a Fishing license is required and depending on species we are fishing for specific tags may be required. Call/Text 541-951-3980 if you have questions or need more information.
Where do I get a STATE Fishing license?
How many fish can I keep?
Limit on fish vary depending on species, time of year and location. It can change from year to year. You can find regulations online or feel free to call or text about current regulations in Southern Oregon 541-951-3980
Do I need to bring my own gear?
No, we provide standard gear such as rods and reels so you don’t need to worry about anything. If you would like to bring your own gear please contact us prior to the trip.
When is the best time to fish for Steelhead and Salmon?
Winter and summer for steelhead and Spring and Fall for Salmon. Specific dates will depend on the river when the season is open and when the fish are running.
Can a beginner book a guided trip?
Yes, we can cater to beginners and kids and will provide instruction based on age and ability.
If we catch fish that are keepers how do we transport it?
At the end of the trip we will fillet and bag the fish and advise it should be promptly put on ice to retain quality for the trip home. Please bring a cooler.
How many people will fit in your drift boat?
Our drift boat can accommodate 2 guests at a time. If you have a larger group that would like to go together we partner with other guides locally to make this happen.
What should I wear to fish in the boat?
Bring rain gear as weather can change at any time as well as waterproof shoes. In the summer months it is still good to wear layers as it can be cold in the mornings. Hats and sunglasses are also recommended.
How many people can book a trip on the sled boat?
Typically we take 4 people at a time on the sled boat, but if you have 4 adults and a child we still may be able to accommodate your trip. Feel free to call or text with questions 541-951-3980
